Bus Gate anomaly?

There are now two sets of cameras mounted on lampposts covering the bus gate. Interestingly, the most recent documentation I have seen, namely “Annex 1” of this document, shows the cameras situated on the pedestrian refuge, rather than where they currently are. It was my belief that these were the latest approved plans so I have reached out to the Highways officer in Oxfordshire County Council to try and understand the discrepancy.

Diagram of the layout of the junction of Elder Way and the A417, at the bus gate. It shows the cameras being attached to a pole in the centre of the pedestrian refuge, rather than being mounted on the lampposts.

However, the bottom line continues to be: if you don’t want to be liable for any enforcement action, then don’t use the Elder Way entrance.
