SATURDAY 30TH SEPTEMBER
Building on the success of the previous Community Days, please join us for a fun-filled afternoon and evening for the third Kingsgrove Community Day!
This page will be continually updated with all the details of the event, so make sure that you bookmark it and check back often.
If you have any questions about the event or would like to volunteer to help make sure it is a success, then please get in touch.
The 2023 event will have two main elements:
- Afternoon event in the main Kingsgrove Public Square, starting at 2pm.
- Ticketed “Hog Roast & Music Night” in Wantage Primary Academy, starting at 6pm.
You can add an event to your preferred calendar here.
PUBLIC SQUARE
2pm – 6pm
Come and join us for an afternoon of activities, competitions, crafts, information and performance.
Competitions
For the first time at the Kingsgrove Community Day, there will be two competitions that you will be able to participate in, both judged by the Mayor of Wantage.
Dog show
We are especially pleased to announce that there will be a light-hearted dog show, with such classes as “Cutest Puppy“, “Best Dressed Dog“, “Best Young Handler” and more. You can find all the details here.
Children’s fancy dress
Does your child like fancy dress? Dressing up as a Marvel or Disney character or their favourite star from the TV?
If so, join us for our fancy dress competition for children under 14.
The winner will receive a £25 voucher, generously donated by Toy Planet in Wantage.

Of course, this is all in addition to “The Heritage Bakery” serving their usual food from the Kingsgrove Cafe.
Music
As in previous years, there will be music throughout the afternoon.
PRIMARY SCHOOL
6pm – 9:30pm
Follow on from your afternoon visit with a trip to our “Hog Roast & Music Night”
The evening event at Wantage Primary Academy will host live music from local band Studio Six. A delicious hog roast will be available, as will other food and vegetarian alternatives. There will also be a bar.
The evening event will be ticketed, so as to ensure that the school won’t be overcrowded. Tickets are available here. We are mindful of the current economic situation so are offering the tickets on a donation basis – please give what you can. We hope to have tickets available at the afternoon event in the Public Square but if the maximum number have already been sold, this won’t be possible. As a result, we encourage you to book early!
