Traffic calming measures
As mentioned in the ‘Updates’ section in the minutes of April’s meeting, I have been told that
There are ongoing talks between the master developer, their transport consultant and Oxfordshire County Council around adoption, layouts and so forth.
Oxfordshire County Council as the highway authority will have the final say on final design, including any traffic calming measures.
I have followed up with this, and asked the following questions:
- Please could you ask why the equivalent traffic calming measure on Primrose Avenue has been delivered. I have seen it on the equivalent plans as for Cherry Croft in P18/V2992/RM, which is the reserved matters application for the Cala phase.
- A lot of residents are complaining about the lack of traffic calming measures around the school. There weren’t any in the plans so I have been telling people that the master developer delivered the road, as per the plans and that any subsequent modification would have to wait until after the adoption of the roads by OCC. As a result, they should contact their county councillor so that the councillor can put the case at the appropriate time, namely after the adoption.
Based on these discussions you mention, is it reasonable for me to revise that slightly, and say that the county councillor might be able to have some impact “now”, for want of a better phrase, as part of the discussion between the master developer, the transport consultant and OCC?

About the meeting
The residents working group typically meets monthly discussing issues raised by residents, ideas to develop the Kingsgrove community etc.
The meeting is attended by the resident representatives, representatives from Preim and the master developer, the community development officer as well as representatives from the Housing Associations that operate in Kingsgrove.
