On a glorious, if somewhat cold, March morning, the Kingsgrove Co-op officially opened for business.

For those residents that moved to Kingsgrove in the very early days of the development, it has certainly been a long time coming but there is finally a shop on the Kingsgrove development!

Paul Gander, pastor of WCC, worked with Hazel Owens, Co-op’s marketing manager, to organise a ribbon-cutting with pupils from Wantage Primary Academy. The Co-op have also generously offered to provide a home for the community noticeboard.

As part of the opening, the Co-op gave the first 50 customers a “golden ticket”. This provided an entry into a raffle with some amazing prizes on offer.
Offers and promotions
Residents should have received a leaflet from the Co-op containing vouchers that are valid until March 28th. In addition, customers that sign up to be a member of Co-op can receive an additional 10% discount on most products until March 23rd if they scan their membership card!*
Food tasting
On Friday 14th and Saturday 15th March there will be a chance to sample some delicious food from the COOK frozen food range, as well as Fairtrade wines and award winning cheese and crisps.
Opening hours
The Co-op will be open from 7am to 10pm, 7 days a week. It has a very wide range of products, as well as ATM, though there isn’t a Post Office.

*like most offers there are some terms and conditions about the use of the vouchers and membership card. To find out these terms and conditions, please contact the Co-op directly.
One a very personal note, although the author of this article didn’t get a “golden ticket”, he is quite proud to be the first paying customer of the new store!
