As many of you may have already seen, or heard, work has officially started on creating the wonderful Kingsgrove Community Hub!
This is really great news for our community at Kingsgrove and is the result of a lot of hard work by a lot of people.

What the hub will bring to Kingsgrove
The hub has been designed to be an integral part of the community and will provide a space for extremely valuable facilities.
- Community groups and local activities
- Health and wellbeing services
- Business and enterprise through hot-desking and incubator space
- Youth and family programmes
- Events
- A café and social meeting space
Timelines
The build is expected to take approximately 18 months to complete meaning an expected completion at the end of 2027 and an official opening in early 2028.
A groundbreaking ceremony will take place in the coming weeks to mark the official start of construction.
Preparation
In the very near future, the builders, Edgar Taylor, will be knocking on some doors to speak with residents living near the Hub.
Practicalities of the construction
Obviously, with a build of this size, there will be an impact to the surrounding area during construction.
To ensure safety and efficiency during the build, the contractor, Edgar Taylor, will be setting up the site. Please be aware of the following temporary changes:
Public Square & Parking
The Public Square and associated parking will be safely fenced off and closed to provide dedicated contractor parking and site storage.
Pedestrian Access
You will still be able to walk safely along the pavements on Elder Way and Rutherford Road.
Minimizing Disruption
A strict Construction Management Plan is actively in place to manage vehicle movements, noise, and dust effectively.
Landscaping & Trees
The team will fully resolve any construction-related wear and tear to the Square. The five trees previously located in the Square have already been carefully relocated to Central Park, and five brand-new trees will be planted in the Square once the works are complete.
