Crab Hill Development Forum – Thursday 31 October

The next Crab Hill Development Forum will be held on Thursday 31 October at Wantage Primary Academy.

About the Crab Hill Development Forum

Occurring once every four months or so, the forum serves as a place to discuss the progress of the development and any matters arising, particularly in relation to planning. It is attended by representatives of St. Modwen, Preim, Vale of White Horse District Council Officers, Wantage Town Council, Oxfordshire County Council Officers, Councillors from Wantage and Grove, Wantage and Grove Campaign Group, Oxfordshire Community Churches and HarBUG.

An opportunity to present residents’ views

Although the Crab Hill Development Forum is a closed meeting, the Kingsgrove Residents Working Group is typically offered a place on the agenda to make sure that the views of people actually living on the development are heard.

If you have anything that you want raising at this meeting, please get in touch. It is important to note that the meeting discusses planning specific matters. As a result, questions / comments about service charges and value of money etc aren’t relevant.

Points to be raised

These are my current thoughts about points that I will raise. These can easily be added to.

  • VoWH District Council’s plans and progress regarding current vacancy for Community Development Officer (salary funded from S106 funds)
  • Exact reasons for refusal of McCarthy Stone’s planning application for retirement apartments and whether any of residents concerns were taken into account
  • Exact reasons and timelines for King Alfred’s Way delay
  • Update on Wantage Town Council’s offer to take over the Woodland Walk
  • Update on discussions between St. Modwen and Wantage Town Football Club regarding Central Park facilities
  • S106 Open Space Contributions
  • Likelihood of Oxfordshire County Council adopting the roads, and an approximate timeline
  • Updates on progress of retail units, housing areas, the hub, roads, etc
